SKETCHES ON THANKSGIVING EVE

      “A Thank You At Thanksgiving”

The last turkey bone soon will be picked bare
the last “Amen”
to thankful prayers has been said
as Advent
knocks at each door
the inner joy of gratitude
remains part of our daily fortitude.

To each of you my dear friends
I say a prayer this day
of gratitude, appreciation
to God who allowed me to know you
in good times and not
for you have blessed my life
in times of peace as well as times of strife.

Peace, I pray for you, I cannot give
that is in the Father’s realm
for I ask that He bless you and yours
each day that you live
filled with laughter, joy and love
so “Thank You” for being you
your “who” is as important as what you do.

A bit of life we've shared, for you I've prayed
and with words and thoughts, we've played.
