Where O'Lord is the light of Your love
in the darkness of my night?
many things am I guilty of Father
but not those
of which I am charged
is this divine justice?
or the product of a fallen world?
confession, repentence
do not nullify the process
the anguish continues
hope for the future dims
but Your love is real
the end matters, justice served
wrongs made right
what will be my lot then?
I know not
but I know You will be glorified
good will come to some
So I fight the fight
celebrating Your power and love!

Tick tock, tock tock
God created time
man measures - seeks control
alas, alak, he can't
tick tock, tick tock, tick tock
the sands of time fall
through the hour glass
the grains seem to fly
faster, faster
manipulation is not control
the waiting grave
remains a stark testimony
tick tock, tick tock
eternity calls, faith's beacon
points back to God
Himself, the great I AM
loved us despite our sins
He loves us still
calls us in Christ Jesus to Himself
He who created time
redeems time, us, tick tock, tick tock.

It was a cold winter's day
A snow flake army
did fall from a grayish sky
each flake unique
so very lovely
fragile, delicate
yet united together strong
a force not to be ignored
cold, but inviting
so from that blanket of white
a snowman was created
representative of man
fragile unique individuals
formable, as a people
the difference?
the breath of God
which transformed into a man
what had been shaped sod
so the snow flake remains
testimony to the power
of the Holy Spirit
on, in, through
the life of sinful man.

This day, Six March, seared into history's memory
the Napoleon of the West marched
across the Texas plains
to subdue, conquer, or to destroy
those who sought freedom
he met not his Waterloo
but the Alamo paved the way
for his San Jacinto
yes it happened, long, long, ago
One hundred and eighty seven
against five thousand
thirteen fear filled days it lasted
'til every Texican
had been put
to the shot, shell, or sword
so this day do remember
the men and women, of the Alamo
though it happened, long, long, ago.
Across the multitude of human hearts
sin with its evil rampage
sought to subdue, destroy, enslave
the whole of the human race
but as in the beginning, there was God
Jesus the Christ, standing firm
the innocent dying for the guilty
that we who believe to heaven will go
transformation now, as also long, long, ago.

Texas Lady, Texas Fellow
holding hands
in history's long shadow
joined by faith
to our loving God above
bound by heritage
of those who freedom did love
those of Alamo
and San Jacinto courage
faced together a future uncertain
disaster's threats unfolding
national, global
mix with those personal
his lips find hers, hers his
as around them history marches
for when the dust settles
the many dramas cease to be
there remains God
and the love that binds us
the love that sets us free
so they stand on a March day
remembering heritage
holding hearts, holding hands
this Texas Lady, this Texas fellow.

Man was born into a perfect world
Scriptures teach that the Lord God created
and it was good
man He created, then woman
the Lord God said "it is very good"
they rose to prominence
these who were shaped from sod
walking, no need for reconciliation, with God.
Psst, the serpent hissed to her
"you can be as God"
if you eat and gain knowledge"
so Eve did and gave to Adam
they knew their nakedness
but were not equal with the Lord God
so began the beginning of the end
into God's perfect world they brought sin.
Sin broke the relationship with God
reconciliation now needed
God tried for centuries to mend
the relationship broken
then He sent His Son, born of flesh
whose life was sinless
dying in humiliation and pain
that man might reconciliation gain.
For this reason came Jesus, the Holy One
To reconcile us to our Father God
whenever sin claims us made from the sod
That victory over death and sin be won.

Birthdays are special days, word entry marked
the joys, sadness, failures, triumphs
would never have happed, unless we were born
future generations are, because of birth
as a dad I made sure each child
was sung to, had a gift, to start their birthday
because each one I loved
and knew that they were very special
as an adult son I once failed to call my dad
till evening was into the hour of "late"
not knowing my dear sisters
each had done the same
poor daddy, his birthday, feeling forgotten
and for my failure, decades later
I still feel rotten
a child cannot be in right relationship with God
and not respect his/her parents
couples may marry, divorce, be widowed
but there should always be a bond
between parent and child
even when one is undeserving in the other's eyes
for while we were yet sinners
Christ died for us
and when we sin, not if we sin, He is our advocate
before our Heavenly Father
celebrate the birth by water into flesh
likewise the birth of flesh into spirit
celebrate your own birth, despite the years
and do so for others who are special
for they too have had failures and triumphs
their lives by the date of their birth forever marked.

Long, long ago, in a far away land
a baby was born
Patrick was his name
raised in faith, departed tradition says
to follow the call of the world
but Irish raiders, slavers
took this youth, perhaps by God's demand.?
Tending the flocks and herds, solitary life
the lad Patrick came to know God
at the right time God engineered
an escape to freedom
but now Patrick was His
for Kingdom service
good times, bad, peace, or strife.
The young man heard the voices calling
in their Irish tongue
"come to us, preach the gospel"
and so he volunteered
made Bishop in a land with no Churches
so he went, he preached
and saw the sinful from their ways falling.
A life is validated in retrospect we say
Patrick led his band
from place to place in all the land
people turned to Christ
to a faith not of idol worship born
and so today we celebrate his birth
his legacy to honor, serving Christ every day.

I have lived my life, walked my road
Lord Jesus, my companion and guide
up hills, down the valleys
have been lost in the plains
of daily existence
confused in the woods of people
have lifted some
who themselves were trampled
my understanding
came from being trampled myself
I have cried tears, laughed
found joy and beauty
in the simplest of things
I have tried to tune
not only my ears but my heart
to listen to another
for we all have a need to be heard
my shoulder is strong
for the head that needs a place to rest
my lips are gentle
to kiss away the tear
my arm embrace
when the terror comes with fear
my road is mine, her is hers of course
but the two could be as one
herself, myself, walking
hand in hand, heart to heart, on God's Road.

You would be a dream to kiss
to gently hold
walking down life's road
enjoying the sunrise, sunset
the time in-between
and always each other
to come before our God, Creator
in humble prayer
two hearts praying as one
reaching out
touching lives
making a difference
each moment, a shame to miss.

There is beauty in the smile, the laugh
that hides behind lovely eyes
encased in a lovely Lady
wanting and willing
to give and receive the loving embrace
a woman to walk with
talk with
share pain, laughter
finding together each day's joy
as they confront
that which is serious
tending to matters as needed
but always together
finding the peace
that is in a kiss, the joy of a laugh.

Two minutes past midnight
as I begin this prayer for you
healing, good health
peace, joy, and Gos's abiding love
be yours, a gift
from God, Himself, above
clarity of vision
wisdom greater than your years
no need for sorrow ot a tear
God's grace, His strength
that you never need to fear.

Heavenly Father, Gracious Lord our God
when the clouds are parted
at night
the heavens display Your glory
when they do not
You have wrapped the earth
in a blanket of gray for our warmth
the rains cleans the air
replenishes our water, nourishes
for we are in need
of nourishment and replenishment
and these Your hands provides
how sad, those who lack faith, belief
they miss Your wonders
dear Lord, I believe, help me when I don't
I have felt the pain of death's loss
have been betrayed, lied to, lied about
by some even ostracized
yet You have forgiven me when I've sinned
when I have failed You, failed Your children
it is You who picks me up
from the humiliating dust of the ground
and though I lose everything I cherish
will walk with me in new directions
holding my heart in Your loving hands
of the praises that are due You
feeble mankind has barely even started
for You are our Creator, our Lord and our God.

Where is oblivion, the deep sleep?
dreams call me
come and play, the night is ours
but one cannot dream
without sleep
alas, alack
the mind is ever racing
though it has nowhere to go
dreams are lost
as is this night's rest
little hope of greeting morning
and being at ones best
from subconcious' depths
comes the plea
unheeded
for sleep, sleep, sleep.

Beware the Ides of March
deadly to some they have been
but death and disaster
have been man's common fare
not his or her fate
from the tossing out of the garden's gate.
To laugh, to love, to enjoy life
now there is a challenge
worthy of the seeking
the lips of the Lady so fair
calls to his to come
with tenderness not to be late.
Behold the morning sunrise comes
clear or by clouds hidden
a new day! a chance to rejoice
for life does not need to be
what was is written; what will be is not
listen to what God's will does dictate!
