"Clown Heart Dissected"
Did you ever want to look into
the heart of a clown
to dissect
the feelings there
but many folks don't care.
Oh, what you'd find!
a hilarious mix
worthy to cry over
laughter balancing tears
mingling with boldness, fears
A mind strongly feeling
who laughs at life
with others
who sees the funny side
from ridiculous will not hide.
A clown, the he, the she
takes other's burdens
helps them laugh
God gave the clown to share
when He gave the heart of care.

"Like Unto A Rose"
My dear love is like unto a rose
created by God
each petal
soft and beautiful
made for me I hopefully suppose.
Brighter than diamonds, her eyes
sparkle with light
coming from deep inside
exciting, calming
much like the peaceful skies.
How I love to touch her hair
behold its color
feel the gentle smoothness
luxurious
is that which adorns this lady fair.
Of the feel of her sweet kiss
lips connecting
exhilarating passions
solidarity
wonderful for both man and miss.
The sight of her coming to me
as joy, happiness
banishes feelings of loneliness
her loving embrace
restricts not, but sets me free!

"Feelings On the Sleeve"
Feelings on the sleeve
an odd place
not likely
to be gone without a trace.
A pity we seek to have
the negatives there
positive is better
especially for those who care.
Life's pressures, ghastly lows
emotional recession
the loving heart
works through, finds progression.
Pity even more the uncaring
forgetting God
wallowing in self
a sad trait of people of sod.
But the loving heart is true
other's pain to relieve
wearing positive feelings
upon their sleeve.

"A Question of Why"
Why the early bird was early
better still
why was the worm?
a breakfast thought rather creepy.
Why does the man in the moon
or the moon itself
have a smile?
escaping earth's grasp as a balloon.
Why does the sea, with its tide
pull to itself
a man, a woman?
walking in love, side by side.
Why do we say there is calm
before, not after
the raging storm?
peace perhaps sounds an alarm.
"Why?" ask the little boy
to frustrated adults
but "why not?"
for it makes the world a toy.

"Contrasts"
An invisible strand
perhaps a letter
on history's page
spicy? no
neither really bland.
Of touch, being an author
yet slightly felt
and sometimes ignored
a would be person
loved and also a lover.
Her heart for him?
his for her
She neglects, gives glance
maybe smiles
joy fills life to the brim.
Around and around
birth, life
transformation of death
a break in silence
a misunderstood sound.
Boy becomes a man
pity him
and his her
seeking self, God
doing the best that he can.

"Change-Gain-Loss"
Change, and gain, and loss
parts of life
awkward at times
but we know the Father
is the boss.
Loss, and gain, and change
common to man
and to woman kind
plus and minus
we are not as cattle on the range.
Change, the loss and gain
opportunity for growth
a closer walk with our God
life's path goes up, down
with bends, again and again.
Change, and gain, and loss
God understands
taking our lifted hand
through each valley He leads
in the shadow of the cross.

"Power of Three"
Three believers working together
prayer, support
ideas
the faithful
spiritual birds of a feather.
The power of wonderful three
the Father, the Son
the Holy Spirit
divine power
nothing is more precious to me.
The past, the future, the present
problems, challenges
failures
times of success
life is a God given present.
Believers, seeking not the gross
but to enrich lives
build homes
with God's timing
under the shadow of the cross.

"Facing A New Day"
The blackness of the night
lies upon the earth
a question mark
upon the day
that waits for each of us
by our anticipation
our day is somehow fed.
We contemplate from our bed
but do we face today
with hope, joy, or is it dread?
Oh, the security of covers
the comfort
of pillows soft, fluffy
the peace
that drowsiness brings
ignorant bliss
of the good and bad that lies ahead.
We contemplate from our bed
but do we face today
with hope, joy, or is it dread?
The dawn may bring a meal
to break the fast of night
fulfilling, upsetting
hot coffee or tea
conversations stark or frilly
listening to a heart
sometimes hearing only the head.
We contemplate from our bed
but do we face today
with hope, joy, or is it dread?
Does the day bring love afresh?
a broken heart?
a slap in the face or a sweet kiss?
purpose, accomplishment
or failure?
will we laugh in danger's face?
to live or become dead?
We contemplate from our bed
but do we face today
with hope, joy, or is it dread?
Two hands reach out in the dark
"Come, Hold ON!
our Heavenly Father's and mine
for we will make the day
it will not control us
He who created still is creating!
The Father will speak as He has said.
We smile while still in bed
as into the new day we will walk
for love, joy, and laughter lie ahead.
