I rarely write comments about a drawing or a painting. Tonight I am making an exception. Reading is optional.

There were two trees in the Garden. To be equal with God, to become a god, to do away with God the Creator, the path was knowledge. Thus the first man and woman ate of the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Their eyes were opened, but instead of knowing everything that God knew they found the results of disobedience and thus sin came into the world.

Today, as then, knowledge is the path to replacing God. Man in his arrogant ignorance denies God, for he and she want to live without accountability. If there is no God, then there is no one to be accountable too. Thus in this picture the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil is bare for sin has touched life. The Tree of Ever Lasting Life is still alive, but barred to man. This is the Genesis story.

Jesus came to be the fruit that confirms the reality of God in a man or woman's life and to give them life eternal. Each person must decide as to which tree they will eat of.
